DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

CLINICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Arrive in time and takes handover of patient bed to bed.
  • Carry out the following assigned jobs given by your superior according to your privilege.
    • Vital Signs
    • Universal Safety Precaution
    • Bed Making
    • Mouth Care
    • Sponging
    • Baby bath care
    • Perennial Care
    • Wound Dressing
    • IM Medication
    • IV Cannula Insertion (IV Medication)
    • Start IV Fluids via Syringe pump, Manual etc
    • ECG Taken
    • Nasal Gastric Tube Insertion
    • Nasal Gastric Tube Feeding
    • Folley’s Catheter Insertion
    • Oral Medication
    • O2 Flow meter
    • Pre Surgical preparation
    • Post Surgical preparation
    • Post Surgical care
    • Nebulization
    • Assisting for Endo Tracheal Intubation
    • Assisting ABG
    • Assisting Renal Biopsy
    • Assisting Taping
    • Assisting the suture Removal
    • Back Care Attending
    • Position Changing
    • BLS (CPR) Provider

 

 

 

 

 

    • Handling of Medical Equipment
      1. Crash Cart
      2. Syringe pump
      3. Pulse Oximeter
      4. Nebulizer
      5. Defibrillator
      6. FH Doppler
  • Pressure store dressing
  • Plan and provide the basic care according to the priority needs of the patients
  • Prepare and take round with Doctor
  • Carryout instructions Doctor’s appropriately’
  • Maintain personal hygiene of patient to prevent infection
  • Give medicine and injection in correct procedure e.g transfusion, giving IV line etc.
  • Take responsibility of admissions and discharge of patient
  • Maintain interpersonal relationship with staff, patients, families and community

ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITIES:

  • Keep adequate supplies (medicine, injection, linen etc.) and does inventory regularly
  • Keep custody of drugs and maintains record of its administration
  • Checks all emergency drugs and equipments daily
  • Creates safe environment in the ward

EDUCATIVE ACTIVITIES:

  • Participate in CME’s, training programs etc.,
  • Implement the training received at work

SUPERVISORY ACTIVITIES:

  • Supervises and guides co-workers (Ayahs, Ward boys etc)

RECORDING & REPORTING ACTIVITIES:

  • Report critical patient’s condition promptly to the concerned person (Doctor, Nursing Superintendent)
  • Inform in advance while taking leave
  • Record and report nursing care, treatment, medicine correctly and promptly
  • Report any issues and leakage in the unit without fail

COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES:

  • Provide psychological support to patient and relatives
  • Report any incident to the ward Incharge and Nursing Superintendent
  • Gives orientation to patient and relatives about physical facilities, policy rules and regulation of the hospital

 

  • Participants in pre and post conference
  • Maintains good interpersonal relationship with patient’s relatives, sister, colleagues, co-workers, and the department staff

 

COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES:

  • Do self-evaluation regularly
  • Continuously improve personal skills and complete levels
